“Prepped” was a quick personal project of mine to come up with a food app that would be a one stop shop where one could quickly choose a recipe from its recipe list and order the ingredients for that recipe in one go.
Defining the problem
A lot of the time when we arrive home tired and hungry from work we’re not to sure what to cook that is healthy and tasty. We also may not have had time to go food shopping that week.
Our main persona
- The app would mainly targeting working Millennials.
- The persona is called Micheal.
- Micheal is 26 and has very busy work and social schedules, he wants to maintain a healthy diet and loves trying out new foods.
- A lot of the time when he arrives home tired and hungry from work he uses food apps such as Deliveroo not because he doesn’t like cooking but because he usually hasn’t had time to do the food shopping.
- Money is not a massive issue for Micheal he does have disposable income but if he can save money he will but won’t mind paying for a service if it will make his life easier.
The business case
- To combine a healthy recipe app with a food shopping app that allows access to multiple supermarkets to find the customer the best price.
- Users will pay a membership to get their food, for their recipes, collected and delivered to their homes.
The brief
- To design a food app that helps users discover new tasty meal recipes that works around their lifestyle.
- To connect to users with their favourite grocery outlets through the app, making it simple and easy to find the right ingredients.
- To have items delivered to customers homes.
- The app would have two CTAs like Amazon on the recipe card one for quick purchase one to customise the purchase
- Minimum price of order for a one off order would be £15.
- They would need to pay subscription of a month of £8.
- The subscription would reduce the price of the minimum order to £10
After I had defined the brief I went on to create the wireframes for the pages. Here are some of those wires.
Using the wireframes I then used Sketch to produce the visual designs.
Lastly using Invision I created a prototype with the finalised designs
