Coast is an established UK womenswear brand dedicated to creating and providing high quality designed occasion wear. I worked here as the sole web designer in the E-commerce team.
As a web designer at Coast I worked and collaborated within a fast paced fashion E-commerce team. Main duties included optimizing the site and designing and building the thrice weekly HTML newsletters as well as any promotional emails or banners.
One of the main focuses was to optimize pages within the Coast website this was to increase conversion and sales. I was also required to create static and animated internal and affiliate advertising for the brand.
This product page below would be an example of one of the optimized pages I worked on, in this instance I trimmed down the unnecessary content and situated most of the content above the fold, this allowed the customer to scan the product quicker thus allowing them to come to faster conclusion on whether to purchase the product.
Standing out from the competition and connecting with the customer is of primary importance in any business.
One of the strategies of how we achieved this was that created a monthly online magazine where the customer could be informed on current fashion trends and tips and any related upcoming events or news. The magazine had a down to earth diary look the reason for this was to give the customer a feeling like they were talking to a friend.
One of the highlights of working at Coast was having the chance to work with some really high quality images showcasing the collections at the time. The launch of the first bridal collection at Coast was one of these opportunities, where I artworked and created an online book to showcase the collection.
Just before I left the brand wanted to relaunch itself with a cleaner and bolder look. This required me to update the look and feel of the both website and newsletter to reflect the change.
